The Eclipse Financial Cup National Snowcross PR

Round 7&8 of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association season was held onMarch 4th and 5th. The Eclipse Financial Cup National Snowcross event was held inTimmons, ON.

Although the weather was cold compared to previous events in Ontario andQuebec the amount of snow did not disappoint. The crowd in Timmins was not affectedby the northern Ontario weather and came out in numbers to enjoy the racing, excitingbooths, VIP section and delicious maple syrup candies.

On Saturday the snowbike class saw #218 Nathan Bles (Bailey Motorsports,Yamaha, YETI) from Bayfield, ON taking the win with some big air off the finish line jump.#29 Stuart Hunt (Bailey Motorsports, Yamaha, YETI) from Toronto, ON placed 2ndfollowed by #141 Shawn Marinoff (Bailey Motorsports, Yamaha, YETI) from Bracebridge,ON in 3rd. The featured class for the weekend was the Pro AM-Women’s class that saw#648 Rebecca Ramsay (Ramsay Law Office, Ski-Doo) from New Liskeard, ON took the winfollowed by Timmins local and the event organizer #55 Angela Vacchino (WatkinsonMotorsports, Arctic Cat) in 2nd and #868 Taylor Desjardins (Conray Dymond Truck Line,Ski-Doo) from New Liskeard, ON placed 3rd. In the Sport 600 – 2 class the current Nationalpoints leader and runner up battled hard throughout the weekend but on Saturday it was#117 Isaac St.Onge (St.Onge Ski-Doo) from Barrie,ON who took the win followed by #321Kyle Ward (London Recreational Racing, Ski-Doo) from Plattsville, ON in 2nd. 3rd placewent to #204 Justin Roney (Xtreme Toys, Polaris) from London, ON. In the Pro-Lite class itwas National Points Leader #14 RJ Roy (Huber Motorsports, Rockstar Energy Drink,Polaris) from Porcupine, ON taking the win followed by #459 Jake Weir (Country CornersBlackriver Racing Arctic Cat) in 2nd and 3rd place went to #886 Jordan Desjardin (ConrayDymond Truck Lines LTD, Ski-Doo) from New Liskeard, ON. The Royal Distributing ProOpen final once again stole the show with the Top 4 riders battling hard over positions. Inthe end #115 Dave Joanis (London Recreational Racing, Rockstar Energy Drink, Ski-Doo)from Cochrane, ON took the win followed by #999 Colby Crapo (Huber Motorsports,Rockstar Energy Drink, Polaris) from St. Anthony, ID in 2nd. #421 Dylan Hall (CountryCorners, Royal Distributing, Arctic Cat) from Ayr, ON placed 3rd.

Sunday saw heavy winds that pushed the riders around and made for a very coldday. However, the people of Timmins came out in support of their favourite riders andtook the weather in stride. In the Snow Bike class it was #218 Nathan Bles (BaileyMotorsports, Yamaha, YETI) from Bayfield, ON taking the win two days in a row with #86sPat Burke (Honda) from South Porcupine, ON in 2nd and #848 JR Wazny (Dragon Alliance,Metal Mulisha, Honda) from Beaverton, ON in 3rd. The featured Pro-Am Womens’ finalwas won by #55 Angela Vacchino (Watkinson Motorsports, Arctic Cat) from Timmins, ONtook the win followed by #868 Taylor Desjardins (Conray Dymond Truck Line, Ski-Doo)from New Liskeard, ON in 2nd and #648 Rebecca Ramsay (Ramsay Law Office, Ski-Doo)also from New Liskeard, ON came in 3rd. In the Sport 600-2 class it was #117 IsaacSt.Onge (St.Onge Ski-Doo) from Barrie,ON taking his second win of the weekend. 2ndplace was #218 Nathan Bles (Xtreme Toys, Polaris) from Bayfield, ON followed by #321Kyle Ward (London Recreational Racing, Ski-Doo) from Plattsville, ON in 3rd. In the Pro-Lite class it was #729 Ryan Hunt (Bailey Motorsports, Ski-Doo) from Toronto, ON whotook the win with #14 RJ Roy (Huber Motorsports, Rockstar Energy Drink, Polaris) fromPorcupine, ON in 2nd. #820 Dylan Barnett (Barnett Motorsports, Ski-Doo) from Dunsford,ON placed 3rd. In the Royal Distributing Pro Open final #421 Dylan Hall (Country Corners,Royal Distributing, Arctic Cat) from Ayr, ON took the holeshot and the win on Sundaywhile 2nd place finisher #173 Corey Watkinson (Watkinson Motorsports, Arctic Cat) fromPort Carling, ON battled his way from 6th to 2nd. However, the best fought battle of theweekend went to #999 Colby Crapo (Huber Motorsports, Rockstar Energy Drink, Polaris)from St. Anthony, ID. After getting tangled off the start Crapo moved up from last placeto 3rd place by the 10th lap!

The next CSRA race will be Rockstar Energy National Snowcross and will be held March25-26th at Chicopee Ski Resort in Kitchener, ON.
