Gresel Ready For APC Series Event at Flamboro

Andrew Gresel Ready For APC Series Event at Flamboro After Sunset Speedway Podium

SAUBLE BEACH, ON - Fresh off of a runner-up finish in the opening round of the APC United Late Model Series season at Sunset Speedway, former tour champion Andrew Gresel has more than a few reasons to be content these days.

“There’s a lot to be happy about when you can start your season on the podium,” explains the multi-time tour winner. “I mean, the guys we’re out there with are no slouches. Believe me. They’re putting every bit as much into their programs as we are. Beating them isn’t easy”

“Our team obviously wants to win every single time we roll into a speedway - but we’re realistic enough to appreciate the positives on any night,” continues Gresel. “There were some things we did awesome at Sunset and then there were others that we can improve on for Flamboro. It was a good experience, for sure”

Looking ahead to Round 2 on June 2nd, Gresel is confident in his team’s chances to walk out with a second consecutive series podium - provided they can avoid the traditional trappings of one of the most challenging speedways on the schedule.

“Our flat track setup is really good - but Flamboro always has a chance of jumping up and biting you if you aren’t careful,” notes the Sauble Beach, ON racer. “You just have to be patient there”

“Guys getting frustrated and not looking over their hood-pins is one of the biggest problems at Flamboro, because it’s so tight and things can go wrong so quickly. We’re going to take things one lap at a time and just make sure to keep the fenders on and the wheels pointed in the right direction”

Gresel’s Sauble Falls Racing team will roll into Flamboro hoping for their 8th career APC Series win - a stat that Gresel credits to his tight-knit crew and their continuous support and high-level work ethic.

“I’m fortunate to be with the same group of guys that I’ve been chasing wins with for a long time,” says Gresel. “That kind of experience makes all the difference”

“We’re going to work together like we always do, we’re not going to cut any shop nights short and we’re going to stay calm to get the job done. We have a package that the rest of these teams should be worried about going into Flamboro.”
